If you made it to the second iteration of the Field Trip festival in June, you know that—after 10 years in the business—Arts & Crafts brings some serious talent to Toronto. But lest we forget, an important part of the label’s mandate is fostering discovery in the music community. That’s why Scion Sessions and Field Trip are teaming up to support original and promising young artists by exposing them to wider audiences. Hence, the third instalment of the Field Trip Discovery Series.

On Thursday, July 24 at the Garrison (1197 Dundas Street West, Toronto), catch four boundary-pushing Toronto bands including 2014 Polaris Music Prize long listers Fresh Snow, avant-art-pop creators Grounders, dark shoegaze-enthusiasts Programm and grungy psych rockers Dirty Frigs. Doors open at 8, and if you like to do fun things without having to pay money, RSVP at fieldtriplife.com to get in to the show for free.

Speaking of which, as promised, Scion Sessions and Field Trip will be releasing limited edition vinyl compilations featuring artists from the Discovery Series. The exclusive releases are are also going to be available for free, later this summer. Check out a preview from the first 7″ cut—and a taste of what you can expect at the Garrison on Thursday—below.
