“Early this Father’s Day morning, our dad Casey Kasem passed away surrounded by family and friends. Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken. Thank you for all your love, support and prayers. The world will miss Casey Kasem, an incredible talent and humanitarian; we will miss our Dad,” his daughter posted on Facebook, signing off the post as “Kerri, Mike and Julie,” or Kasem’s children.
But while Kasem will be best remembered as a wildly successful music radio personality, he’s also had a decorated (and sometimes strange) career. Here are some of the voices Kasem’s used over his career.
Kasem’s anti-pollution PSA with Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff
Kasem as Shaggy from Scooby Doo
Kasem’s cameo on Ghostbusters
“The boys in grey slugged it out with a pretty pesky poltergeist,” Kasem says in his countdown. Sniffles.
Kasem safely helps kids cross the street as Robin
Kasem as the voice of Chevelle
Kasem’s appearance on Saved by the Bell
Kasem enters the data age with Atari
Kasem as the voice of DQ
Kasem as an anti-war activist
R.I.P., Casey.
