Valentine’s Day is incredibly polarizing. In your early days in school it brings about your first real taste of anxiety. Is it weird if I give this girl a Valentine? What if she doesn’t give me one back? And if I give her one, should I give the rest of my class one?

It doesn’t take long before hormones kick in and crushes become more than pulling pigtails, and eventually the holiday goes from trying not to exclude anyone to trying to work out those gross emotions that come with growing up. But we miss those feelings. Call us romantics, but there was always that sinking feeling to know someone choo-choo-chose you, y’know?
