Track Of The Week: "Waves" by Magic Man

Recently when friends have asked me what bands I’m into, the last few months I’ve responded with recommending Boston, MA band Magic Man. The band has a killer 5-song EP called You Are Here that is front-to-back outstanding. It’s so great that I had a hard time trying to figure out which song to recommend to you today.
The band began as a duo while friends Alex Caplow and Sam Vanderhoop lived in France volunteering on different organic farms, having impromptu writing sessions on their midday breaks. That summer yielded the band’s self-produced debut album Real Life Color (released in 2010), and since then, the band has evolved from two college students behind a laptop into a five-person band. Adding Justine Bowe, Daniel Radin, and Joey Sulkowski into the mix, the group’s synth-heavy indie pop/rock style has really caught on, especially with the success of the You Are Here EP. The band are looking forward to releasing their next full-length album early in 2014.
I finally decided on the final track “Waves,” but do yourself a favour and stream the whole EP below.
