Babymetal continue to corner the market on adorable heavy metal crossovers, offering something nasty for the already tiny niche that wishes Kyary Pamyu Pamyu would gruff it up a little more. Their last song, “Megitsune,” entered them swiftly into the world of crabcore, but their latest, “ギミチョコ,” or “Gimichoko,” is a stricter sounding thrash song dedicated to every little kid’s favourite treat: chocolate.

You’ll be quick to notice from the above “live” video that Babymetal are anything but an actual band, consisting of three official members that don’t play an instrument, two of which are only credited as scream dancers. It’s fabricated to the grandest extent. And you know what? It’s still pretty fantastic.

It’s hard to explain why it works, but pairing the absolutely ludicous choreography with sputtering, candy-paced vocals that sound eerily like something out of a Fantomas track only solidify that Babymetal are soon to take over the world. These GIFs prove it.

Their self-titled debut album is out now in Japan. They’re destined for big things, and soon will be able to buy all the chocolate their hearts desire.

We can only hope.
