Track Of The Week: "The Sun II" by Snakadaktal

This band was one of my favourite discoveries of last year, although I really wouldn’t say I discovered them.  

They came to me by way of one of my contributors on my blog, who especially has her ear closer to whats going on down under. Snakadaktal are an Australian five-piece indie pop/dream pop band, who formed in 2009 in Melbourne, Australia. In 2011, they were named Triple J Unearthed High winners, earning them a record deal with I OH YOU Records. I admittedly haven’t heard their first EP, but they came on my radar last year with the band’s debut LP Sleep in the Water, released in August 2013.  

Recommended listening are the two singles from the record; first single Hung on Tight”  and the follow-up “Fall Underneath.”

The latest from the band is The Sun II EP, just released on January 3. The EP features six previously unreleased tracks, a new track “East of Here,” remixes of album singles and of course, our track of the week, “The Sun II.”
