London, ON’s newest rising star, Wolf Saga, is starting the year off with a bang. Not that 2013 treated him terribly: After winning Samsung’s Infinite Possibilities contest, he transformed from a bedroom prodigy to a full-formed synth pop guru. After winning the contest, he flew out to Vancouver to record his debut with legendary producers in DJ Khalil and Chin Injeti (who’ve worked with, among others, Eminem) and signed onto venerable Canadian indie Handsome Boy, the imprint responsible for releases by Rusty, Groovy Religion, and the Monoxides.

Today, his debut release—aptly titled My Time—is finally seeing the light of day. The five-song EP showcases Wolf Saga’s glossy, skygazing take on synth-driven indie pop, touching down on friendship anthems (“Always With Me”), yearning slow-burners (“Glance”), and M83-style party starters (“Reverie Girl”). In tandem with Samsung and AUX, he’ll also be debuting a video for the EP’s first single, “Our Time,” shot in Toronto’s factory studded Junction Triangle.

Naturally, Wolf Saga will be supporting My Time with live performances. While he hasn’t yet revealed a tour itinerary, he’ll be performing on February 12 with Com Truise at Toronto’s Wrong Bar. Check out the EP below.
