Basketball fans know LeBron James is no stranger to a quick verse. Years back, before Nothing Was the Same—hell, before Take Care—then Cleveland Cavalier James was caught court side spitting Eminem’s liquid fire verses like it was nothing. But in the years since, which have seen him win multiple titles, MVPs, and accolades, LBJ’s proved he’s better than your average lip-syncher. Last night, he did it again.

At teammate Shane Battier’s annual Battioke event, one which last year saw James butcher a Michael Jackson song, #6 took on Juvenile’s once uninterruptible hit “Back That Azz Up,” and while he did well to censor the profane song in real time, he refused to cop out with that “Back That Thang Up” drivel. Midway through, teammate Michael Beasley gets in on the fun.

Like we said, though: this is nothing new.

Remember when Lebron rapped with Drake in 2010?

Or when, after winning his first NBA title, he rapped with 2 Chainz and LMFAO?

What about when he rapped along to “Niggas in Paris” at a charity game before casually hitting a 50 footer?

Of course, it started with Eminem. LeBron’s always seemed to have a connection with the self-affirmed “Rap God.
