Black metal musician killed in Thailand for not being evil enough

Legendarily, Norwegian black metal luminary Euronymous once created a necklace out of the skull fragments of Mayhem singer Dead.  The story that follows isn’t as bad. But it’s close.

According to the Bangkok Post, the 36-year-old singer of Thai black metal acts Zygoatsis (pictured above) and Surrender of Divinity, Samong Traisattha, has been murdered by a fan. The account is supremely unsettling: According to the singer’s widow, he invited a fan, allegedly a man named Prakarn Harnphanbusakorn, over to screen-print merchandise and have a few drinks. When she went to put her child to bed, she emerged to find Harnphanbusakorn gone and Traisattha dead, laying in a pool of his own blood.

It’s a tragic outcome for a man who could’ve been better-known within Canada—one of his bands, Zygoatsis, was planning a split with Vancouver goat metal act Necroholocaust. Listen to Zygoatsis below.

In the meantime, though, a fan named Malificent Meditation, believed to be Harnphanbusakorn, has claimed responsibility for the murder in a rambling Facebook note. Here, from Metalsucks, is what he wrote.

“I have intended to end my life since I was 25. Because I’ll die eventually, I want to drag down those who tarnish Satanism with me. But I refrained from killing women and children…In my view, I have more respect for devoted Buddhists, Christians and Muslims than those who call themselves Satanists without knowing anything about it… If I did not kill him, I’m sure he would be murdered by someone else later… above all else, Satan is not a toy. Do not call yourself a Satanist if you do not believe in Satan!!!”

In other words: This fan is accusing the deceased of being a false Satanist. Oy vey.

The user also posted graphic photos from the crime scene, including the man covered in pools of blood. He posted a photo of the police tape (below), along with several photos of the blood-spattered corpse. We won’t include them here, but if you’ve got the gastrointestinal nerve, they’re posted on Facebook.

The caption of the photo, ran through Google translate, says: “Date 9/01/57 At approximately 21:30 Permit counter of a metropolitan radio Acton Foundation Ed received notification armed with knives killed 34 Soi Sai village near Fulda. 1 patient died as a preliminary to know the name later Mr three quarters believe the information age of 36 years to notice the next picture … City 59.”

In the meantime, though, memorials have been rolled out for the fallen singer. Necroholocaust posted the one below. R.I.P.
