After serving two-year jail sentence stemming from weapons charges in 2010, Ja Rule has had a difficult time to adjusting to life outside of the pen. After serving his initial sentence, he only spent days as a free man—a week afterwards, he was back in the pen on tax evasion charges. And apparently, he took that time to get comfortable: Along with developing a signature chicken curry, there were rumours swirling that the “Always On Time” rapper had left his wife for his prison cellmate.

The rumours reportedly began with a quote from his wife, Aisha Atkins, made on MTV’s Married Life After Prison, reports Metro.

“He wrote all them love songs and still don’t know how to treat a bitch,” his wife says on the show, referring to dripping-wet sex jams like “Thug Lovin’.” “We spent 10-plus years building our marriage, but it only took him two to decide he’d rather suck a dick.”

From there, the rumour mill began: The penis in question, the Internet surmised, belonged to his cellmate. The blogosphere speculated about the nature of his alleged love affair, with some sites suggesting that the 37-year-old returned home, only to make frequent visits to a personal trainer—who turned out to be his ex-roomie in the slammer.

It didn’t help, then, that a quote from his wife seemed to affirm the rumour. “He returned home alright. To get his shit and leave,” Atkins said.

Rule didn’t seem to like these rumours—and he took to Twitter, where he seemingly conflated homosexuality with “haters.”

As if Ja Rule’s word wasn’t enough, he also took to Instagram to prove his heterosexuality. And he posted a photo of him. Making out. With a babe. A girl babe—his wife, to be exact. Which is surefire proof that girl babes and not boy babes give him boners.

Ja Rule’s denial is of particular note, as in 2007, he created a stir by another set of comments made related to MTV—homophobic ones.

“Let’s talk about all these fucking shows that they have on MTV that is promoting homosexuality, that my kids can’t watch this shit,” he told Complex. “Dating shows that’s showing two guys or two girls in mid-afternoon. Let’s talk about shit like that! If that’s not fucking up America, I don’t know what is.”

He did, however, claim those comments were taken out of context. “My statement was more about where our mind state is as a people. We’re focused on the wrong things — like, our country is at war right now. These things are more of a problem to me,” he’d later tell Spinner. “[And gay marriage is] really not my business. I really could care less. It’s not something that bothers me.”
