Paul McCartney has recently admitted every Beatles fan’s dream—that he still consults his deceased Beatles songwriting partner, John Lennon, when writing new songs.

“If I’m at a point where I go, ‘I’m not sure about this,’ I’ll throw it across the room to John,” McCartney told Rolling Stone. “He’ll say, ‘You can’t go there, man.’ And I’ll say, ‘You’re quite right. How about this?’ ‘Yeah, that’s better.’ We’ll have a conversation. I don’t want to lose that.”

The quote comes from RS‘s recent cover story, which also mentions McCartney’s forgotten feud with Yoko Ono, and his refusal to forgive Lennon’s muderer, Mark David Chapman. McCartney has just released his 24th post-Beatles album, New, one that features production by Adele collaborator Paul Epworth, as well as Kings of Leon collaborator Ethan Johns, Mark Ronson (Bruno Mars, Nas, Amy Winehouse), and Giles Martin (son of legendary Beatles producer George, of course).

A good indication of McCartney’s modern tendencies lie in his pop-driven new single “Queenie Bee”, the video for which features a bunch of celebrities like Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep, Kate Moss, and lots more, coming to Abbey Road studio to see McCartney play. Check it out below.
