This train can't be stopped.

You knew it was coming, and finally after the 14 months since we first heard Avril and Chad were getting hitched, and now following the Kroeger-penned Lavigne singles “Rock N Roll” and “Here’s to Never Growing Up” comes “Let Me Go,” the power couple’s heart wrenching duet-debut.

Sounding a lot like the Kroeger/Scott monster ballad “Hero,” “Let Me Go” channels the best bits of “How You Remind Me” and “My Happy Ending” and seems to broach on the end of each singer’s past relationships, in the subtext, the start of something special. And as we learned with their surprise French wedding, that something is Chavril.

You can mock all you want. You can even smirk. But this train can’t be stopped. Listen as Avril’s yelps circle in harmony around Kroeger’s infamous howls. This song isn’t just a ballad, it’s a representation of a rarity in today’s society—a marriage that just works.
