It’s been a while since Daz Dillinger’s had his day, which might be why Tha Dogg Pound producer says he was offered a paltry $4,271 per-song by Rockstar Games, the developers and publishers of Grand Theft Auto V.

Dillinger says he declined the “offensively low” offer, but any of the fifteen million people who’ve played the game thus far know that both “C-Walk,” a song he did with Kurupt, and Tha Dogg Pound’s “Nothin’ But the Cavi Hit” are featured on the game’s West Coast Classic’s radio station.

The result is an ultimatum so insane we almost feel foolish reporting on it. Daz Dillinger wants money, and he’ll likely get some—that part we understand. But if he isn’t paid in the next 14 days, Daz’s lawyers say they want all unsold copies of the game destroyed.

No, seriously. That’s an actual request.

Not only would that absolutely not happen, but what good would it do? Grand Theft Auto V made more than $800 million in its first 24 hours and crossed the billion dollar mark within three days of its release. It is on record as the fastest selling entertainment product in history. So… anyone who’s going to hear the songs in game likely already has.

We’re not lawyers, far from it, but you can probably expect a settlement sometime soon. Rockstar can afford it, after all. [via Pitchfork]
