After hearing the latest new track from RAC, I’m wondering if his true talent is in songwriting. RAC has built a reputation as one of the best remix DJs (or re-interpreters) in the blogosphere by putting touches on the likes of Ra Ra Riot, Tegan and Sara, The Shins, Dragonette, and Bloc Party to name a few. Now the focus seems to be on the original work, drawing from those relationships for collaborations and putting out music that doesn’t have RAC in the parenthesis.

Last year, we heard our first taste on “Hollywood“, a collaboration with Penguin Prison. Now, I think we’re hearing RAC‘s best yet. Check out “Let Go”, featuring vocal contributions from MNDR and Bloc Party‘s Kele. Look for this track on an EP called “Don’t Talk To”, out Oct. 1st, 2013.

The video, which premiered this week, finds a man struggling with the fact that his girlfriend can’t control her habit of becoming a murderous cannibal.
