23 new homes for Toronto's Sam the Record Man sign

In early 2008, Toronto’s Ryerson University bought the iconic Sam the Record Man flagship store on Yonge Street, signing a deal to also restore and rehang the store’s iconic sign in its former location, future home to the University’s new Student Learning Centre.
But recently, it was revealed that the school was balking at the $250,000 restoration cost, and this week, Toronto City Council voted in favour of amending the original agreement. The City will instead work with Ryerson to find a new home for the sign within a year.
Here are some other Toronto landmarks or areas of interest that would suit Sam’s giant glittery records just fine.
1. The Air Canada Centre
2. The Quality Meats slaughterhouse
3. Honest Ed’s (at least until they move out)
…At which point maybe Sonic Boom will buy it for .25 cents.
4. Trinity Bellwoods Park gates
5. Casa Loma
6. The CNE
7. Under the Gardiner Expressway, potentially propping its crumbly ass up
8. Drake’s Started from the Bottom billboard
9. With the pandas at the Toronto Zoo
10. Jilly’s
11. A TTC streetcar
12. Old City Hall
13. A Hippo Harbour tour bus (once we bring it back from Victoria, of course)
14. The CN Tower
15. Hooters
16. Centre Island
17. The Parkview Arms
18. Wonder Mountain at Canada’s Wonderland
19. The Roger’s Centre. Love this Sam’s team!
20. The Waverly Hotel
21. Yonge-Dundas Square, very near the sign’s original home
22. Bonus non-Toronto home: At the last remaining Sam the Record Man store, in Belleville, ON
23. At AUX. Duh.
