Road to Polaris: Metric on 'Synthetica'

When Metric released Fantasies is 2009, they redefined their business model while expanding their stadium-filling sound, striking out on their own while penning some of the biggest songs of their career. Synthetica is the next logical mutation, finding the band drawing equally from classic rock tropes and futuristic tones and defining the DIY approach to arena-sized business. It’s an impressive balancing act that has freed the band creatively to pursue ideas both big and small, maintaining a degree of control creatively that few bands at their level are capable of holding on to.
