King Crimson's 1974 classic Red is getting rereleased as part of a massive, 24 disc collection.

Van Morrison announced that his Moondance reissue would be pretty big, with a reported 50 bonus tracks. Nirvana one upped him, with their In Utero re-release coming with more than 70 bonus tracks. And then there’s King Crimson. 50 bonus tracks? 70? King Crimson has no time for such frivolities: their Red re-release is going to be packaged as a 24 disc set.

In addition to the album itself, The Road to Red will come packed with 16 concerts (across 20 discs), a DVD and 2 Blu Rays containting five additional concerts and a fancy 5.1, 24/96 DTS-HD mix of the album. The package also comes with replicas of hand written set lists, postcards, prints, pictures and a $225 price tag.

It’ll be out in october, and you can pre-order it here. Check out DGMLive for the full track listing and set details. [via Burning Ambulance]
