Tonight marks the 20th anniversary of Late Show with David Letterman, but one day before the celebration could really kick off Bill Murray joined his old friend for a delightfully bizarre rendition of “I Will Always Love You.”

Inexplicably dressed like Liberace, Murray wondered aloud what the #1 song was when Late Show took the air on August 30th 1993, when he appeared as the show’s first guest.

He landed on Whitney Houston’s classic Dolly Parton cover, and while it was actually UB40’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” that topped the charts that day, we’ll allow the flub since he followed the revelation up by singing it. Not particularly well, mind you, but does that actually matter? It’s Bill Murrary! Dressed like Liberace!
