August 20 will go down in history as the day Avril Lavigne saved rock ‘n’ roll. OK, well maybe not, but that’s certainly the implication of her newest—and incredible—video for “Rock ‘N’ Roll.” A few weeks back, we wrote that we couldn’t wait to see her new video. Here are 10 of the most absurd things to appear in the video.
1. The video’s whole story takes place on a *strategically placed* Sony smartphone.
2. There are real implications that Avril is saving rock ‘n’ roll. I mean, the song’s amazing, but…
3. She enlists the help of Billy Zane. That’s right. Billy MFing Zane.
4. And a heavy drinking Doberman is part of Avril’s rock-saving crew. We would’ve chosen a St. Bernard, but hey.
5. She inexplicably fights a knife-wielding lobster. Pinchy, is that you?
6. She makes a drunk driving joke. MADD, u mad? We’re wagering the answer is yes.
7. Then makes out with Winnie from The Wonder Years. You jelly, Fred Savage?
8. Next, takes a swipe at Slash. Because this is a “November Rain” spoof, isn’t it?
9. She fights a bearshark. Or is that a sharkbear?
10. Billy Zane takes off on a intergalactic stand-up electric scooter. I never thought I’d ever see those words written in sequence.
