The privacy issues surrounding Jay-Z’s new album were obvious when Killer Mike noted that the Android app required to download the release asked to track everything from your Facebook info to your GPS location and phone calls.

Consider this the reaction to that.

According to the BBC, hackers managed to clone the app this weekend as part of a protest against government surveillance programs. McAfee security firm says that while the app initially functions like the official version, it contained extra code that would then display anti-Obama messages, most notably an image of the American President wearing headphones with the slogan “Yes We Scan” branded above his head.

Obviously a reaction to the NSA’s Prism program, the app is part of the burgeoning hacktivist scene, and while McAfee can’t confirm any malicious code, they are still urging users to be careful when browsing the Android market.
