Metallica had its second annual Orion Music + More festival this weekend and decided to give fans a treat with a surprise, mid-day run-through of their classic Kill ‘Em All album.

The performance was set up as a bit of elaborate marketing for their upcoming 3D film, Through the Never, with James Hetfield’s Instagram urging fans not to pass up on a special performance by DeHaan, a band that doesn’t exist. Instead it was a reference to Dane Dehaan, the actor who stars in the upcoming film (trailer here) and the performance was actually a front-to-back performance of their 1983 debut album, from “Hit the Lights” to “Metal Militia.”

And because, hey, it’s the internet, here’s the entire thing captured in three video clips.

Thanks to Blabbermouth for the heads up on this.
