There are biblical signs of the apocalypse, and then there’s this: yesterday morning, a fan told J. Cole that he’d buy his new album, Born Sinner, if Cole re-tweeted him on Twitter. Unfortunately for, like, society, he said that if Cole didn’t, he’d “kill his sister.” Yes, there was a picture.

Because what the hell is he supposed to do, Cole retweeted the photo with the phrase “wildest shit I ever seen on Twitter,” and we might be with him here. Eventually the kid apologized a whole bunch and said the entire thing was a joke.

Apparently his mom was “in the room” when the picture was taken, and while police came out to check up on the situation, they brushed it off after learning that the pistol in the photo was a BB gun. In an amazing bit of irony, he told people online to “use their head” when assuming it was a real gun.

“If it was real I’d be in jail,” he wrote. Instead, it looks like he’s probably just grounded.

“My mom is so mad at me,” he tweeted. “I gotta go into hiding for a lil while.”

Of course that hasn’t actually happened. He’s tweeting @replies like wildfire today and all the original tweets are still live. He isn’t showing much remorse, either— while he says being an “internet thug” backfired, he also told someone that he’s “happy bout [his] RT” but “mad they got police involved.”

Also, this isn’t how kids are wearing hats these days, is it? Did I miss something?
