It looks like we can't go at least one day without talking about Yeezus, so today's news comes courtesy of the project's executive producer and horizontal guru, Rick Rubin.

It looks like we can’t go at least one day without talking about Yeezus, so today’s news comes courtesy of the project’s executive producer and horizontal guru, Rick Rubin.

In an illuminating interview with Newsweek, Rubin speaks on, among other things, what it was like to spend fifteen long days helping Kanye West finsh Yeezus and meet his deadline.

What’s perhaps most interesting about the Ye-related interview tidbits is the mention that the original plan was to have Yeezus be a sixteen track album, instead of ten. Initially, Kanye played over three hours of unfinished material for Rick. Rubin notes that “before [Kanye] even asked [him] to work on it, [he] said, ‘Maybe you should make it more concise. Maybe this is two albums. Maybe this is just the first half.'”

When asked if he thought there could be a second installment to Yeezus, Rubin relied, “might be.” THE SECOND COMING.

In other news, it looks like Kanye has also signed on to be creative director for a feature film based on The Jetsons. This is exiting news — we can’t wait to see Elroy speak swaghili.
