Scion Sessions and AUX take you front-and-centre with exclusive performances and insight from your favourite artists, like Austra, Hooded Fang, Teen Daze, Cadence Weapon, and more—highlighting the flow of original vinyl releases, free downloads, and live shows that are its hallmarks. Visit ScionSessions.ca for the full scope.

With 2011’s Tosta Mista, Hooded Fang—a Toronto outfit featuring members of the ever-buzzy Phedre—established their M.O. as a band: They paired Dan Lee’s morose lyrics with April Aliermo, Lane Halley, and D. Alex Meek’s penchant for big, fuzzy garage hooks. (And the more we got to know ’em, the more we learned to love ’em.) They’re continuing their hot streak with Tosta Mista‘s followup, GRAVEZ, which drops in Canada today (May 27) via Full Time Hobby and the band’s own label, Daps.

For a more intimate look at their new LP, AUX has teamed up with Scion to present this behind-the-scenes take of “Sailor Bull,” which kicks off the side B of GRAVEZ. This was filmed at Ian Gomes’ Crawford Street Recording Co., in Toronto. Check out the song’s thundering, accelerant econo-pop in the video above.

For those living in Toronto, Hooded Fang will celebrate the release of GRAVEZ with a release party at the Horseshoe Tavern on Friday, May 31. Rounding out the bill will be Blonde Elvis, Planet Creature, and Weaves. Check out the event information here.
