Here's what Radiohead's "Idioteque" sounds like when played on a record made of plywood

A while back someone figured out how to play tree rings on a record player. It was cool, even if it sounded like butt.

This is similar. Sort of. Last year Amanda Ghassaei made headlines when she 3D printed a Nirvana record. Now Wired reports that she’s etched Radiohead’s “Idioteque” onto a piece of plywood.

To do it, she coded a laser cutter to etch the sound waves into the wood. The result doesn’t sound very good, but the fact it sounds like anything at all is impressive enough.
