White Stripes announce live album, demos 7" and 56-page photobook in celebration of Elephant's 10th anniversary

Tilda Swinton might not be joining Jack White for an April Fools inspired reunion but with the ten year anniversary of Elephant the Detroit duo is nonetheless planning a celebration, announcing that they’re releasing a live album called Nine Miles from the White City to honour the album that crossed them over to mainstream superstardom.

Recorded at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom in 2003, the 26 song double LP is coming out as part of Third Man Records’ Vault service and features a hefty track listing with a mix of fan favourites and covers. Not only that, but it’ll apparently be bundled with a 7″ of Elephant demos, like the early version of “I Want to Be the Boy to Warm Your Mother’s Heart” posted (in part) below.

Also included in the package is a 56-page photobook called Pictures from Elephant, which collects David Swanson photos snapped throughout the album’s recording process.

Here’s the track list for the live album. We’re not sure when the Vault Package will be released, but since Elephant was originally released in April we’d expect it sooner rather than later. [via NME]
