We’ll assume they’ll leave their dick socks at home and put on pants for the gig, but that still doesn’t explain why in the world the Red Hot Chili Peppers are set to play for the Dalai Lama when he visits Oregon in May.

“The musical element of this event is intended to be a display of joyful celebration and an inspiration to future generations to care for our planet,” read a press release on the event. “The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been great supporters of the Tibetan cause, of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and of the need to work to protect and preserve our environment.”

Consequence of Sound says tickets for the event, which is happening at Maitripa College in Portland on May 11th, are still available.
