Meat Loaf has unsurprisingly announced that he’s set to retire from touring after one last tour, which given his tendency to collapse on stage (or simply run out of breath almost instantly) is great news for fans worried about his health. He says he wants to focus on being an actor and says that he’s sick of hotel rooms.

But that’s only the second biggest news of the day for the “Bat Out of Hell” singer, with the Sun reporting that he’s recruiting Robbie Williams to help him ghost hunt in Los Angeles. Their target? Charlie Chaplin.

Meat Loaf says he’s seen and talked to his dead mother and believes he’s a “conduit” for the supernatural, adding that “Robbie sohuld absolutely” go ghost-hunting with him.

“There are so many places to go – we could head to the old A&M recording studios in LA. They think Charlie Chaplin’s down there.”

It should of course be noted that Charlie Chaplin exiled himself from the United States for more than two decades leading up to his death in 1977. He called it an “unhappy country” and said he was fed up with America’s “moral pompositym,” meaning it wouldn’t make a whole ton of sense for his ghost to be hanging out on Los Angeles, the city whose culture and atmosphere likely led to his patriotic frustrations.

That and the fact that ghosts aren’t real, I mean.
