Boston’s Dropkick Murphys stepped into action almost immediately after this week’s tragic marathon bombings, releasing a new shirt that says “For Boston” with all of its proceeds going directly to the victims of the incident. Rolling Stone reported yesterday that the shirt had sold enough to raise $65,000 in its first 15 hours, but crazier still the band updated the figure last night: as of about 8PM eastern yesterday, they’ve raised about $100,000. Like the band or not, this is a great sign of solidarity for the city that made them. The shirt ships next week and you can still buy one at their online store.
