A$AP Rocky is a lot of things, but producer hasn’t to this day been one of them. He’s looking to change that, though, with word that he’s working on an instrumental album set to drop pretty much whenever he feels like it.

“I’m working on an instrumental album, doing all my own beats. It’s going to be interesting to see how people react towards my production,” he said in an interview with NessaOnAir. “I’m going to put it out, like, I’m not even going to announce it. Just drop it.”

His production credits to date are sparse and likely vanity credits if anything. On Long. Live. A$AP he gets co-credited (as LORD FLACKO) on three tracks (“Long Live A$AP,” “Fashion Killa” and “Suddenly”) and he’s listed for doing the remix on “Wild for the Night,” but to date that’s pretty much it. It’s hard to say what it’ll sound like, though we’d imagine his trademark, pitch-shifted “uh” will be mighty prevalent when the album drops, which he says is “sometime soon.”
