Track Of The Week: "Varsity" by Smith Westerns

No doubt I have this song ringing in my head as I head south this evening for a long overdue week off.  

“Varsity” by Smith Westerns has those big melodies and laid-back vibe for warmer days and nights. The song comes from their upcoming release Soft Will, out June 11 on Mom + Pop records.  

The Chicago indie-rock trio recruited Chris Coady (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grizzly Bear, TV On The Radio) to produce sessions in New York and El Paso. Coady also produced the bands’ breakout release, 2011’s Dye It Blonde.
