Danny Brown reacts to Hottest MC rankings with a new track

MTV News has started unveiling its 8th annual Hottest MCs list, recently announcing Drake at number 5 earlier this week, and the reactions haven’t been the best from some of the listed talent.

Kanye West is unsurprisingly unhappy with being placed 7th, claiming his fashion choices have pushed him out of the upper echelons in MTV’s eyes because “They don’t like Givenchy Kanye. They don’t like Kanye in a kilt. They don’t like Kanye in a relationship.”

And then there’s Danny Brown, who as of now is unlisted (the full list will be unveiled Thursday), who’s already declaring himself “the greatest rapper ever” with a new song aimed at the countdown.

“#HottestMC” sees Brown going back to his roots, rapping in a more straightfoward style replacing his trademark drawl with a deeper delivery. While the song won’t be on Old whenever it drops, the Harry Fraud produced cut is worth checking.

As for what happens if Danny makes the top 5… we’re not sure. But here’s who’s already made MTV’s list:
