Bands get all the attention. How about a laugh? The CMF Comedy Showcase takes place all week at Tallboys (838 Bloor Street West). Here’s our Q&A with Toronto’s Jordan Foisy.

AUX: Tell us why everyone in Toronto needs to come see your CMF showcase.

Jordan Foisy: The first reason to come is the line-up is absolutely stacked that night with some great comics, including my good friend DJ Demers headlining. Also I think everyone in Toronto should be checking out its comedy scene when they can. The talent here is as good as the great music scene but gets none of the attention.

Is performing as part of a music festival like CMW fun? Or is it the worst? You can tell us.

I have never performed at one before but am very excited to do it. I am a huge music fan and it was a personal goal to play one of the festivals in Toronto.

Who’s your favourite Toronto comic and why?

My favorite comic in the city is Chris Locke. He is so funny on stage and writes incredible jokes that combine relatable self-deprecation with just insane, hilarious ideas.

Who’s your favourite Toronto band/artist and why?

My favourite Toronto band and overall band will always be the Constantines. Amazing, rocking songs about how to be a man in this tiny, shitty world and they were the best live.

What else are you up to that we should know about?

Every Wednesday Night in the Comedy Bar Cabaret Space, a bunch of friends and I put on some great stand-up shows under the moniker Chuckle Co. People should definitely come to that.

Jordan Foisy performs on Thursday, March 21, at 8:45 p.m. Check the CMW schedule for full details.
