Sufjan Stevens on Red Bull commercial: "selling out never looked so good"

Sufjan Stevens joked about selling out on his Tumblr yesterday, sort of apologizing for his deal with Red Bull, to whom he licensed the song “Redford (For Yia-Yia & Pappou)” for commercial use.
“Selling out never looked so good. But someone had to pay for all that Christmas confetti,” he writes, referencing a recent holiday tour.
He goes onto apologize to Mark Bittman, who Pitchfork points out is a New York times food writer who has recently questioned the ethics behind celebrity soda endorsements. Is Red Bull a soda, though? Either way, it’s gross.
