Ryan Adams' cover of Iron Maiden's "Wasted Years" gets studio treatment on 'Californication' soundtrack

Ryan Adams has been covering Iron Maiden’s “Wasted Years” for a while now, but his rendition finally gets the studio treatment (the closest we came was a cover on BBC Radio) when Californication‘s sixth season soundtrack hits stores on the 15th.

Unfortunately we can’t embed the song (which you can see him do live up top; the original is below), so you’ll have to hit Rolling Stone to hear it. But for the small niche of fans who like both metal and Adams’ sugar-y brand of alt-country, it’s more than worth the click. Up next: his cover of Dio’s “Holy Diver.” Hopefully.
