Damn, Los Angeles. Another one, huh? As we’ve seen in the last little bit, the West Coast offers up yet another young, talented individual that comes off as way further developed than they ought to be.

The Hit-Boy affiliated K. Roosevelt produced a song and sang the hook on the other on two of the better tracks on The Game’s recent LP, Jesus Piece. That’s fine. Apparently, he’s been making moves around the scene over on that side and gradually garnering buzz as a producer over the past two years. Cool. Now, he drops this free EP, RoseGold. And it’s incredible.

Roosevelt does just about everything on this project, up on some Ryan Leslie shit, and that’s part of the reason why he’s such an exciting prospect. Propelled by the inspiring influence of the R&B revival, K. Roosevelt flexes his ability to make a sexy, soothing track still have some knock to it. His sweet pop ditties gleam all over his dark, beautifully fleshed out beats built on infectious clattering percussion (which might be his signature). With this release, it would be fair to assume that Kevin Roosevelt will be making a few noteworthy moves this year. Listen to the EP below or download it here.
