Bands: Do you want Jose Canseco to write your lyrics?

Jose Conseco might be insane, but if he is it’s in the most harmless and endearing of ways. Case in point, the above tweet followed by a Twitter exchange with Every Time I Die’s Keith Buckley concerning the band’s desire to have him write lyrics for them.

Here’s how it started:

And it only got weirder from there. After “sending hugs” to Keith and his brother Jordan, Canseco said he would “set my hair on fire with” them, adding that he loves being on stage (but doesn’t sing great) and that they should head to Vegas in April. Keith agreed and said “then me and you can work out some ideas.”

NOTE: While Every Time I Die formed in 1998, their demo tape wasn’t released until the next year.

This isn’t the first time Canseco’s flexed his musical muscles on Twitter, either. Here’s what happened with Toronto locals The Darcys told Canseco they’d support his bizarre push to be Hogtown’s Mayor if he shouted out their band:
