Cat Power’s incredibly lucid new video for Funny or Die is a relief for fans, showing Chan Marshall singing in front of some school kids and berating them with calculated craziness that’s made her live shows a complete shot in the dark.

“I met a cow once,” says Marshall in the video midway through a rendition of Old MacDonald Had a Farm. “And they have souls, and four stomachs. Have you ever looked in their eyes? Like, really looked in the eyes of a cow?”

It’s delightful, really. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction for Marshall, who really needs to get back on her feet in spite of recent health and financial problems.

“This lady makes me said,” says one little girl at the end of the clip. And then… snack time!
