So, a few things happened at the 100th Grey Cup yesterday evening. The Toronto Argonauts defeated the Calgary Stampeders, and Justin Bieber was met with a cacophony of hometown boos, but the real story in the Rogers Centre last night was hanging from Gordon Lightfoot’s wrist.

Pictured below, you’ll see a close up of the 74-year-old national treasure wearing a Twilight: New Moon bracelet on his strumming hand during a rousing performance of “Canadian Railroad Trilogy”:

So, what’s the deal? Is Gordon Lightfoot a Twi-hard? Is he going to change his name to Gordon Twilightfoot? Maybe it’s because he looks strikingly similar to a vampire. Maybe he’s wearing this bracelet because it’s available on Amazon for a shockingly good deal. Only $14.99 for a “New Moon” and companion “Wolf Girl” bracelet? That’s just good value.

It could be that the Grey Cup’s half-time show producers were wary of leading off their ratings-grabbing extravaganza with the one act that doesn’t appeal to the youth at all, so they slapped a Twilight bracelet on him to give the youngins something to look at. Whatever the reason, we’re just happy know Gordon Lightfoot is Team Jacob.

It might be worth noting that Gordon Lightfoot has somewhat of a connection to this wristband that predates Twilight: his 1982 song “Blackberry Wine” name-checks Edward, Jacob, and Bella’s bizarre love triangle:

“There’s a new moon risin’ and the wind sings it’s old song”

Oh, and if you’re wondering if he ever busts out the “Wolf Girl” bracelet, the answer is yes, obviously:
