Machine Head won’t be allowed to play at Orlando’s House of Blues on December 4th after Disney’s upheld a years-old ban based on the band’s allegedly “inflammatory lyrics” and “undesirable fans.”

Since the venue is located on Disney’s Lake Buena Vista property, they got the final say on the show, though their decision is more than a bit suspect considering Machine Head are currently on tour with Dethklok, whose new album features a song called “I Ejaculate Fire,” and The Black Dahlia Murder, who regularly write songs about horror and violence.

Apparently the ban started in 2007, when Disney put Machine Head on a list of objectionable acts not permitted to play on site. They say Disney’s been keeping them out of their venues ever since.

“The diversity-impaired corporation began pressuring the promoter with vague threats of liability and reduced job security before placing Machine Head under an internal ‘review process,’ reads a statement on the band’s website.

“Five days later, Walt Disney Properties would convey their alarming decision to the band, less than 48 hours before the first date of 2007’s anti-war, anti-religion, anti-conservative-themed The Blackening album headline run at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, CA.”

This certainly sucks for fans living near these venues, but surely there’s got to be other options? [via the Gauntlet]
