There’s a great irony in the Barenaked Ladies criticizing Pearl Jam for “just putting their names” on their branded beer when all they really did for their own upcoming branded booze was hang out at the brewery for a day, but then that’s the world we live in.

Creatively called BNL Strong Beer, the band endorsed brew is an 11% chocolate imperial stout made by the Flying Monkeys brewery that’s going to run buyers $13.75 per 750mL bottle.

Brew boss Peter Chiodo says the beer is expensive because it costs more to make, telling the Toronto Star that “there are about four times as much of each ingredient as there are in our other beers.”

As for whether it’s worth the money, you’ll have to wait until it hits LCBO stores next month to find out.
