A$AP Rocky and Danny Brown's Toronto gig unsurprisingly postponed after Canada customs denies them at the border

Bad news if you were hoping to check out A$AP Rocky and Danny Brown tonight at Toronto’s Sound Academy because the show has had to be postponed after Canadian customs denied both artists at the border.

Rumours were swirling that the show was going to get nixed after ScHoolboy Q tweeted that “Canada don’t fuck wit us druggys lol” on Sunday, but the bad news was officially confirmed today when the show’s promoters Union Events tweeted that it’d been officially postponed. Their website cites “unforeseen immigration issues” as the reason for the delay.

What’s curious isn’t that this happened, because as Jeff the Brotherhood told us back in August, the Canadian/US border tends to treat artists like criminals, but that it happened this time. A$AP Rocky and the rest of his mob made it across the border without incident during Caribana (sorry, the Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival) for an appearance at Drake’s 3rd annual OVO Fest.

Still, the performers couldn’t have been helping themselves in the lead up to the show. ScHoolboy Q repeatedly tweeted about how he needed to buy weed while A$AP Rocky was retweeting comments from fans telling him to sneak into the country. Danny Brown actually kept his cool, and he says the worst part about getting denied into the country is that the border guards actually “started laughing” at them. Harsh.

The Long Live A$AP Tour is supposed to be in Vancouver on October 20th, so here’s hoping they have more luck on the west coast.
