It’s not a slow pop day, we swear. We’re actually choosing to bring you the news that Smash Mouth is releasing a cookbook, entitled “Smash Mouth: Recipes from the Road.”

Compiling over 200 recipes from restaurants the band has visited while touring, the book also teases “hilarious real life road stories straight from ‘The Mouth.'” They’ve promised it will be out in time for Christmas, which makes it the perfect anti-gift for the older brother who spent most of his adolescence farting on your things.

To complete the package, the cookbook features a foreword by Guy Fieri! We snagged an advance copy and are happy to present his introduction in its entirety.

I’ll never forget the first time I heard “All Star”. It was June 2nd, 1999. And I’ll never forget the 3,000th time I heard “All Star”. It was later that same day, in a trailer for a movie where David Schwimmer adopts a talkin’ walrus. That walrus was an all-star for sure, brah!

I later became best buds with the group, and I learned how much I have in common with them. Just like me, they love food, and just like me, they were briefly tolerated by the world before the sound of us became the equivalent of someone pissin’ in your canker.

I gotta take some credit here: I’m the one who told them to write a cookbook. The lead singer, Shawn, is the only dude I’ve ever seen who could eat a 18-inch hoagie while snortin’ a milkshake up his nose. And you don’t even want to know where it all came out! These guys got a gift to share with the world, and this is it. Happy eatin’s!

Guy Fieri
(Fieri means fire in Mexican! I’m a wild man!)

Sadly, “Recipes From The Road” does not include a 24 Egg Omelette.
