Stan Lee is almost 90-years-old, but that didn’t stop him from taking the stage with the Godfather of Goth Peter Murphy at a recent expo to perform “That Old Black Magic,” a song made famous by everyone from Frank Sinatra to Ella Fitzgerald.
Far from a singer, the Spider-Man creator takes the Shatnerian approach to the performance, balancing the former Bauhaus singer’s cold, calculated baritone with the occasional half-spoke, half-shouted interjection. But the real highlight comes just over two minutes in when he inexplicably shouts, “I wish he was a girl!”
He might dance like an old man, but Stan Lee’s wit is still sharp as a tack.
