It was recently announced that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky would be the first performance of the night at the MTV Video Music Awards tomorrow, and in advance of the event, a recording of the remix they’ll be performing has hit the Internet. This performance could introduce a wider audience to A$AP Rocky. Is the world ready for a trill infusion?
It was recently announced that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky would be the first performance of the night at the MTV Video Music Awards tomorrow, and in advance of the event, a recording of the remix they’ll be performing has hit the Internet.
A$AP Rocky comes out strong with a solid sixteen bars on top of the Mr. Bangladesh-produced (and Greg Kinnear-sampling — no, really) beat, with the rest of the song playing out relatively unchanged from its album version.
The song is a pretty controversial choice for the VMAs performance, but not quite as scandalous as the Rihanna/Chris Brown “Birthday Cake” remix would have been. Also, this performance could introduce a wider audience to A$AP Rocky. Is the world ready for a trill infusion?
