Lil B does what Lil B wants, which is whatever Lil B puts his mind to according to Lil B, but even the based god might have overshot his goals when he tweeted that he’s going to try out for the Golden State Warriors. Here’s why that isn’t going to happen.

While there’s been no shortage of athletes trying their hand at music, going the other way is a little less common. Master P tried it a while back when he was on the Toronto Raptors training camp squad, but anyone unfortunate enough to remember him chucking shot after shot from way outside the 3-point line would be wrong to call the experiment anything but a monumental failure. His son, Romeo, didn’t fare much better when he made it onto USC’s squad following his friend and future Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan in what most people felt like was little more than recruitment bate.

Factor in the Based God’s tenuous relationship with the league (he’s been going at it with Kevin Durant for a while now) and we’re hard pressed to see this as anything but a cry for attention. NBA teams rarely allow walk-on try-outs so close to training camp, and it’s unlikely Lil B’s the exception here, especially with reports that the entire team—aside from Andris Biedrins—has been practising together for the better part of the past month. Maybe they’ll let him work out with the team, and maybe they’ll even let him get on the court in training camp (like the Dodgers did with Billy Crystal a few years back), but this seems more like wishful thinking from Lil B than anything.

Still, could you imagine Lil B in the NBA? We can, and its hilarious.
