It’s hard to explain what exactly is happening in the new Tori Amos video, which itself is perhaps the best way to summarize her career as a whole. And we mean that in the nicest possible way.

In “Flavor,” she takes in New York City by herself, but proves not to be alone. She inexplicably hugs an old man in a diner (he looks happy, but confused). She helps an old woman with her shopping bags, even though she looks content to sit and relax for a bit (look how bossy Tori Amos is!).

And it gets weirder from there.

At one point, she very closely follows two little kids in frilly skirts. Then, moments later, she takes up the role of a New York City bird lady before watching an old hippie dance and later trading wallets with an angry looking techno-punk.

Basically, it’s like we said: we’ve got no idea what’s happening, but we’re into it regardless.
