Sometimes the jokes write themselves, and sometimes they don’t, and when a New York Times profile exposed GOP Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan as an unlikely Rage Against the Machine fan, we thought for days on the best way to make light of it.

And then Tom Morello spoke out. Continuing the trend we reported yesterday of Republicans stealing your favourite songs, Morello’s told Rolling Stone in a length op-ed that Paul Ryan is “the embodiment of the machine that our music has been raging against for two decades,” going on to say that he thinks Ryan is not without rage of his own: against women, immigrants, workers, gays, the poor and the environment. The whole thing is about as scathing as you’d expect, but it’s definitely worth a look.
