We’d heard Peaches was working on a video and song in support of Pussy Riot, and since it’s Peaches, we knew it’d be a bit weird.

On that front, the video delivers fully. Not only did she manage to wrangle hundreds of balaclava wearing supporters to dance around wildly in fields and on the street, but there’s a collection of clips tossed in between, ones which feature everything from a dude in a mask sitting on the toilet to a group of people wearing nothing but tape.

The song itself is about as abrasive as you’d expect, adopting a street-punk ethos into Peaches usual electro-structure, but then the point isn’t so much to make artful music as it is to deliver the message. And with lyrics that rarely stray from the words “free Pussy Riot!” this latest protest does just that. Head over to the video’s YouTube page for more information on how you can get involved in all of this, whether by signing a petition or donating some money.
