Listen to "Love Dem Strippers" by 2 Chainz and Nicki Minaj

The third single from 2 Chainz’ Based On A T.R.U. Story is set for an official release on Tuesday, but we’ve an early sneak peak for you, since the wonderfully-titled “Love Dem Strippers” leaked to the Internet yesterday evening.

Produced by Atlanta trap beatsmith the Honorable C.N.O.T.E., “Love Dem Strippers” doesn’t exactly break the mould when it comes to 2 Chainz singles. In fact, it brings very little to the table in terms of originality, except for around the 1:15 mark, when 2 Chainz seemingly tries his hand at inserting a heartbroken country ballad into the middle of the song. 2 Chainz has a bit of that southern twang in his voice, but let’s just say that his attempt at singing isn’t exactly effective on “Love Dem Strippers.”

This song also earns the “Most Repetitive Hook of the Summer” award. But to be fair, if you’re expecting something innovative and cerebral from a 2 Chainz single, you’re in the wrong place.

We’ve heard better features from Nicki Minaj this year, too, but her lack of effort lately has us thinking she’s starting to fall off. Where’s the monster with gold teeth and fangs we loved so much in fall of 2010? I guess she’s too busy riding around in a starship, pounding the alarm with RedOne to actually craft a decent 16 bars these days.

It’s also worth noting that Nicki Minaj and 2 Chainz seem to spend a lot of quality time together in strip clubs. In the video for “Beez In The Trap,” Nicki and 2 Chainz pal around with some professional undressers, and you’ve gotta expect that a song called “Love Dem Strippers” will have a video that stays true (T.R.U.?) to its name. In the behind the scenes clip below, you can see that there’s no shortage of pole acrobatics, and making it rain in the Benny Boom-directed clip.
